About Us

Tim Hsia

Tim is a West Point graduate, former US Army infantry officer, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He is now the CEO of Media Mobilize and the founder of Context Ventures, a venture fund that invests in military veteran founders and fintech and consumer startups.
Tim’s startup investments prior to Context Ventures include Workflow (acquired by Apple), Morning Brew (acquired by Business Insider), The Hustle (acquired by HubSpot), Thredup (IPO), Proterra (SPAC), Bright Cellars, FabFitFun, Verb Energy, Lime (scooter), and Secureframe.
Tim is a board member at Service to School (co-founder), Bunker Labs, and the Marine’s Memorial Association (Marine Memorial Club and Hotel in San Francisco). He is also a Pat Tillman Foundation Scholar.
He is also involved in various organizations and enjoys running, reading, and spending time with his family in San Francisco. 

Angie Parker

Angie is Community, Operations, and Marketing at Context Ventures. She is 2X former founder, with a Business Entrepreneurship and Data Science degree from the University of Washington. 
Angie served four years in the US Air Force, flying onboard AWACS as a radar technician, and is a graduate of SERE School. 
She is an active mentor for Veterati and various accelerator programs, a volunteer Chief of Staff at the non-profit Culture In Sports, enjoys many sports herself, including power lifting.

Context Ventures

At Context Ventures we support and invest in military veteran founders. Since our founding in early 2021 we have met with thousands of military veteran founders and as of October 2023 we have invested in 14 companies started by military veteran founders. We believe military veteran founders have the ingenuity, leadership, and persistence to build companies of consequence.
